EarlySounds Keepsake Recorder What is a Doppler?
A Doppler is a handheld ultrasound device that is used by nearly every obstetrician in the developed world to listen to an expectant baby's heartbeat.
Dopplers have been in use since the late 1960's and are designed to specifically hear the baby's heartbeat.
Do I need a computer?
NO! Earlysounds was designed to work as it's own product. It has an internal speaker that you can use to share the excitement with whomever you want.
However, if you want to email the recording to others you will need access to a computer and email application.
How do I make a recording?
1. Locate the headphone terminal on the Doppler unit and insert one end of the cable provided with your EarlySounds into the headphone terminal of the Doppler.

3. Your obstetrician will use the Doppler unit according to standard practices. 4. To begin recording press and hold both the PLAY and the RECORD buttons for at least 2 seconds. Hold both buttons for as long as recording as you like, up to 20 seconds. 5. Once recording is finished, you may decide if the recording is satisfactory by pressing and releasing the PLAY button. 6. If another recording is desired repeat step 4.
How do I transfer the recording to my computer?

How do I change the batteries?
Your EarlySounds is equipped with 2 CR2032 batteries. To replace the batteries unscrew the back screw with a flat head screwdriver or pocket knife, slide the blue cover off, gently press the battery release lever, and replace the batteries with any commercially available CR2032 batteries.
Will I lose the recording if I change the batteries?
NO! Each version of the EarlySounds is equipped with a 100-year audio retention device.
What if there is no input port or jack on my computer?
PC and Apples have almost countless ways that they can be configured. Sometimes they are configured without a port that the cable supplied with the EarlySounds can be plugged in to. If this is the case with your computer, then you will have to use the microphone of your computer to transfer the sounds recorded with your EarlySounds Keepsake Recorder. We suggest the following: 1. Open the sound application for your type of computer as described in the enclosed instructions. 2. Locate the microphone (usually just a small slit somewhere on the computer near the screen or keyboard). 3. Make sure the microphone is selected (and not line input). 4. Start recording as described in the included instructions.
What if I can't find SimpleSounds on my computer?
Apple decided to do away with the SimpleSound application for OSX and later operating systems. If you searched for SimpleSound and your computer did not find anything then we found another Apple sound recorder application for you! You may download a copy of the free recorder here.
